2023 Cycling PEI Memberships
Now Available!

Hard as it may be to imagine right now, another year of cycling is right around the corner! Time to get your 2023 Cycling PEI membership!

Cycling for All (Recreational) and Racing Memberships are available to purchase now at www.cyclingpei.org/membership.

PLEASE NOTE: UCI Licenses (required if you intend to enter races in other provinces) are not yet available but will be soon - thank you for your patience as we work to set up a system that will allow for more timely and efficient processing of UCI license requests.

NEW OPTIONAL INSURANCE ADD-ONS:
You will notice that, this year for the first time, our Membership form includes the option to purchase two accident insurance add-ons along with your membership.

The Training Accident Insurance ($20) extends the same accident coverage you enjoy at CPEI-sanctioned events and club rides to all of your training activities this year.

The 24-hour Bike Accident Insurance ($100) ensures that you are covered for up to $25,000 in the event of an accident that happens anytime while riding your bike.

Both insurance add-ons take immediate effect once you have purchased them, and are good until the end of the 2023!

It’s SNOW time!

Winter has finally arrived on PEI, and Cycling PEI trail groomers have been out regularly grooming multi-use trails for fat biking and snowshoeing at the Summerside Rotary Park, Heather Moyse Park in Summerside, the trails at the Glasgow Hills golf course, the Brookvale Demo Woodlot, Acadian Forest Trails in Charlottetown, and the Cardigan River Trails.

Our grooming pilots have been great about getting out there with the snowdogs after snowfalls. For recent updates on trail conditions, we recommend checking out Cycling PEI and PEI Trails Report on Facebook.

We gratefully acknowledge funding support that makes this all possible from our partners at Tourism PEI, Tourism Cavendish Beach, the City of Summerside and the City of Charlottetown.

Active Transportation

Cycling PEI is proud to support the growing movement for safe, connected & convenient active transportation infrastructure on PEI.

Right now, there is incredible work being done in PEI’s urban areas to bring this vision to life. We encourage you to check out and support the efforts of SAFE Summerside, which will be presenting its Summerside Active Transportation Network Plan to Summerside City Council on March 20th (and invites you to join them!), and stay tuned for some exciting announcements next month from our friends at Bike Friendly Communities, which has been working to prepare an AT network plan for Charlottetown, Cornwall and Stratford!

Opportunity with Gran Fondo PEI

Gran Fondo PEI, the CPEI-affiliated organization that organizes the annual cycling event of the same name, is currently looking for a Project Manager to take the lead on organizing this year's fondo, which takes place August 25-27.

This could be an exciting opportunity for someone with event organizing and/or project management experience - especially if they’re into cycling!
