Commissaires are race officials who play an important role in maintaining safety, fair play, and ensuring that races operate in accordance with provincial and national standards. You can train to be a commissaire by taking online courses and learning from experienced commissaires at races, and there are special courses for both Road and Mountain Biking disciplines. April 27 Deadline for Charlottetown’s Sustainability Micro-Grants
|
The City of Charlottetown has expanded its Sustainability Micro Grants program for 2022. This year, the selection committee is particularly interested in projects that further the City’s efforts towards climate resilience, food security, supporting the arts, creating healthy communities, and making Charlottetown a more inclusive place to live. Nevertheless, the City is always inspired by the creativity within our community, and it encourages residents to submit all projects that contribute to the City’s sustainability goals. Of course, anything promoting a more bike-friendly city supports Charlottetown’s sustainability goals! If you’re a resident of Charlottetown and have an idea that could use up to $2500 to make a difference, please visit the City’s website for more information, and be sure to send in your idea before the deadline on April 27th at 4pm!

Hey Summerside! Visit the newest bike shop in town, Wallace Wong’s Leisure Moments, located at 265A Unit 1, Heather Moyse Drive.Leisure Moments is a locally-owned business specializing in the sale of folding bicycles and accessories such as helmets and bells. Why folding bikes? Wallace says “Folding bikes are very common in my home town because they only occupy a small amount of space and are easy to carry when taking public transportation. As an amateur cyclist, cycling with my folding bike at the waterfront has become the major family activity on weekends. This is how we got the idea to open our shop and introduce the folding bike to PEI.” “Cycling is simple, relaxing and healthy. Most importantly, we hope you enjoy and have a wonderful time cycling along PEIs shores with your loved ones as much as we do.” Check out their online store at www.leisuremomentbikes.com
